My Found Treasure
So here I am with an update on my developing Temari work. Very discouraged indeed,,, and why you ask? It is the learning curve that has me floating around in mid-air with no place to plant my feet.
Will I let this stop me? Not in a million years, however, I think I will stop, learn and proceed a bit slower.
One thing I have been thinking about though is a lovely display tray. I have looked, drooled, dreamed and waited. Lou and I spied a beautiful hand blown tray that was made from glass and it just sparkled with an almost golden dust. Think of the colours pink bands with pink dust fading into bands of golden dust sparkles. I think you get the picture. When I saw the price tag ($115) on this beauty, I just let the dream go "poof" in my mind. I decided then and there I did not want the holder to outshine my Temari work, which it would, or IF, at this time my Temari did not cover over all this lovely glass it would eventually....so scratch that idea and let's move forward.
A week or so Lou and I went off on a day journey. We ended up at Parks Blueberry and Country store, Thamesville, Ont. If you have never been there it is an amazing store. The amazing part is the tea room. They sell freshly baked food such as scones that are the size of a bread plate. We are thinking such tastes as blueberry, raisin, raspberry as well as raspberry-chocolate (which just happens to be my favourite choice). The line up for food wound half way round the outside of the country store part. So since lineups are not for Lou or me,,,,, but shopping certainly is....off we went on a "window"ish shopping time. Row upon row, gifty things all around us. A boutique shoppers paradise. Jewellery, clothes, Christmas ornaments, candles, soap, well you get the picture. Then we came to the Kitchen shelves. Some pull had me standing there looking up at the top shelf. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT......there on the top shelf staring down on me was a very interesting looking side of a tray? Lacy looking, but wait! Something very rustic looking and when I picked it up, very dusty. Yes, this was the treasure I had been waiting for. Tidy looking metal rustic oval shaped metal tray....don,t know what else to call it...but there was my dream Temari holder. A quick bath at home and it was ready to hold my new craft.

Is this not incentive to spur me forward? Indeed it was, and I am ready to pick up again on this journey. Stay tuned to watch the tray filling up with beautiful thread art.

What a lovely way to display your growing temari collection. The colors really do pop against the metal tray. And what a nice collection of temari you are amassing. Keep up the good work.
